HANCOCK, N.Y. — Longtime Hancock resident, outdoorsman, and local legend Ray Turner, affectionately known throughout the Upper Delaware region as "The Eel Man," has announced the publication of his newest book, Eel Weir Hollow.
For generations, Ray Turner has been recognized for preserving the traditional art of eel fishing on the Delaware River. Through years of hands-on experience, craftsmanship, and a deep respect for the river, he has become one of the area's most knowledgeable voices on the history and practice of building and operating traditional eel weirs.
