More Than 55 Student Musicians and Staff to Perform Free Patriotic Concert in Hancock Town Square
HANCOCK, N.Y. — Residents and visitors are invited to experience an unforgettable evening of music, patriotism, and community as the French Woods Festival of the Performing Arts returns to Hancock Town Square on Friday, July 3, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. for a special America 250 Concert Celebration.
The free outdoor concert will feature more than 55 talented student musicians and professional staff from the internationally recognized French Woods Festival of the Performing Arts, one of the nation's premier summer performing arts programs.
This annual tradition has become one of Hancock's most anticipated summer cultural events, bringing together exceptional young performers from across the United States and around the world for an inspiring evening of music in the heart of the community.
Leading this year's concert will be Dr. Joseph M. Bello, USAF (Ret.) . Bello's distinguished military and musical career has taken him to some of the nation's most prestigious stages, making his appearance in Hancock a rare opportunity for local audiences.
The concert will serve as Hancock's musical tribute to America's 250th Anniversary, featuring patriotic selections, American classics, and concert band favorites that celebrate the nation's history, heritage, and enduring spirit.
"This is truly one of those special evenings that reminds us how fortunate we are to live in Hancock," said Richard H. Lowe, III - Hancock Area Chamber of Commerce Secretary. "To welcome more than 55 young musicians and staff, under the direction of a conductor with Dr. Bello's credentials, is an extraordinary opportunity for our residents and visitors alike."
Set against the backdrop of Hancock Town Square, the performance offers a unique blend of small-town charm and world-class musical talent. Audience members are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets and enjoy an evening of live music beneath the summer sky as Independence Day weekend begins.
French Woods Festival of the Performing Arts has long been recognized as one of the country's leading performing arts camps, attracting aspiring musicians, actors, dancers, and artists from around the globe. The annual Hancock performance allows students to share their talents with the broader community while providing audiences with a professional-caliber concert experience free of charge.
