Hancock, NY – The Hancock Community Education Foundation’s 2nd Annual Free Family Carnival brought hundreds of children, families, and neighbors together in the Hancock Town Square for a day of fun, games, and community spirit. With 1,200 people attending the event, we could not be more thrilled by the turnout.

This year’s event was made possible through the generosity and support of several key community partners:

  • NBT Bank – Provided free school supplies, ensuring local children are ready for the new school year.

  • SFCU Bank – Offered games and giveaways that brought smiles to kids and parents alike.

  • Fidelis Care – Assisted families in connecting with important health care resources.

  • Bridgewater Church – Served up complimentary hot dogs, chips, and beverages to keep everyone fueled.

  • Hancock Partners – Provided the Town Square space and support to host this family-friendly event.

  • B&G Carnival & Tunes – Delivered the carnival attractions, games, prizes, music, and karaoke that kept the celebration lively from start to finish.

Local leadership was also on hand to join in the festivities. Hancock Town Supervisor Jerry Vernold and Mayor Shaun Shannon attended the event to show their support and celebrate with residents.

The day highlighted the true meaning of small-town community. As Jerry Vernold Hancock NY Town Supervisor noted, “It’s no wonder Hancock, NY was named the #1 Best Small Town in the USA by TimeOut New York — this is exactly what small-town spirit looks like.”

The Free Family Carnival is quickly becoming a beloved annual tradition, showcasing the generosity of Hancock’s sponsors, the dedication of its volunteers, and the joy of its families.

📸 Photos and highlights from this year’s event will be shared soon on Hancock community pages and local outlets.
